The only ultra-cycling event in Hungary
The Hungarian Divide is the largest off-road cycling ultra in Hungary, where you can adventure across nearly 1,400 km of the country, passing through numerous historical landmarks along the routes of our mountain ranges.
The self-supported format is an exciting blend of physical and mental challenges, where only the most prepared can finish. Not everyone can be first, but everyone wins who completes it.
Route
The plan below shows the full route. The half-distance follows the same path and ends in Budapest.

What do we recommend for THE DIVIDE?
The Hungarian Divide is a true off-road cycling challenge and a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
The clock doesn’t stop, and there are no prizes. The route takes you through dirt roads, gravel paths, trails, and forestry tracks that are rarely traveled by others. There will be sections where you’ll need to get off your bike, but overall, the terrain isn’t extremely difficult. We guarantee that the HD will pose big questions and test you both physically and mentally. However, we’re not looking for the fastest riders. In the HD, everyone who reaches the finish line is a winner.

The terrain: The Hungarian Divide route mainly follows off-road paths, with several technical and challenging sections. Overall, the course is rideable almost all the way, but we recommend it only for advanced cyclists and those who regularly ride on rough terrain.
For the Hungarian Divide, we recommend a bike with tires at least 45 mm wide. For comfort, the wider, the better— the most comfortable option would be a mountain bike with 2″ (50mm) tires. Gravel bikes are also very popular and suitable, but we still recommend tires with a minimum width of 45 mm. Along with the bike, it’s essential that the rider is very confident in handling their bike, even on difficult terrain.
The paired category is simple: you’ll receive a tracking device (GPS tracker) that you both need to carry together throughout the course, and you can take turns. On the event’s GPS tracking page, you will appear as a team. Both of you can use all services and refreshment stations. You will receive two race packs and one finisher gift.
Yes, however, teams that include at least one participant with a pedelec E-Bike are classified as an E-Bike team
If you are competing as a pair, you need to designate a team captain who will handle the registration process, including payment for the entire team. After a successful team registration, the team captain will receive an email with instructions on any further steps required for team members. You can find more details under the team tickets section.
If you are unable to attend the event, please notify us in writing by emailing hello@klnd.eu, referencing your order ID.

After this period, we can no longer offer a refund. However, tickets can be transferred to another person or carried over to the following year.
